Superbodies - 2012 Summer Olympics

Well, 2012 is another olympic year and since Superbodies was such a great success for the 2010 Winter Games, CTV has ordered up 12 more for the Summer Games in London. Of course I’m stoked to be a part of it as I get the opportunity to really build the sound design of these spots from the ground up, without music. Mixing again will be Matt Harrold at Post City Sound. Keep an eye out for them this summer!

My Babysitter’s a Vampire (Season 2)

Ethan, Benny, and Sarah are back for more vampire fun in Season 2 of My Babysitter’s a Vampire. We’re still rocking the same crew as last year and mixing at Technicolor. Journey To Christmas

Journey to Christmas is a four part documentary series following five diverse people experience the Holy Land for the first time. Their goal being to discover if there is more to Christmas than what we typically experience here in North America.

So happy to be a part of this project. It’s always a joy to blend my faith in with the work I am doing. I was in charge of cutting sound effects for the 4 episodes, called on by the all talented Darryl Kingdon who served this show in many ways but for me was our re-recording mixer. The show has aired on CTS but keep an eye out for it this Christmas season as it will also air on APTN.

The Stoned Ages

Hosted by Dean Norris, The Stoned Ages journeys through the millennia looking in on the greatest civilizations in human history to discover whether drugs helped these societies flourish or fail and whether drug use was holy or hedonistic, a saviour or a curse.

Well this marked my first mixing gig for VO2 Mix and it was a whirlwind! A 96 minute doc cut and mixed in 5 days and airing less than a week later...yikes. Thankfully it was a pretty straight forward show sound-wise and all went off without a hitch. Big thanks to Terry Wedel for some routing genius and VO2’s assistant Alex for a solid effects track.

The Captains

Just sitting in The Royal Theatre with Matt Chan, Daniel Pellerin, and our producer Kevin Layne furiously mixing away on William Shatner’s new documentary “The Captains”. It’s set to air in just over a week on Epix in the US and follows the original Captain Kirk as he travels the world talking with the other performers who have played Captains in the Star Trek franchise.

Can’t say I’m a huge fan of Star Trek, but I did watch my fair share of The New Generation and the new film with Chris Pine was killer. Hearing Patrick Stewart’s experience of the show and his life in general was pretty enlightening. It’s certainly a refreshingly simple documentary with some very intimate and moving conversations. Unfortunately Shatner wasn’t able to make it to the mix as originally intended but all is going well and we should finish up in good time.
